Dates set for our festive walks to help the nation’s veterans and their families.

December and the run-up to Christmas will see our lawyers, their colleagues and families step out for a series of sponsored walks to raise money for a charity that offers vital support to Britain’s military veterans.

The date and routes have been set for our walks in Grimsby, Lincoln and Beverley with plans in their final stages for similar stride-outs at the Wolds offices and at our Business Solutions office in Doncaster.

As a firm, we are encouraging as many people as possible to take part in one of our events, as part of the ‘Walking Home For Christmas’ appeal, which is being organised on a national level by Walking With The Wounded. People across the country are challenged to ‘step out for those who have served’ and organise such fund-raising walks during this festive season, with money raised donated to veterans in need and their families.

With almost 500 employees across our offices we would love to involve as many of our staff as possible – along with their relatives, friends and associates. The aim is to raise a grand total of £4,725 – the amount needed to support one veteran per office, seven in total, to undergo intensive one-to-one mental health care.

  • In Grimsby the walk will set off from our offices in Cartergate at 4.30pm on Wednesday 11 December, and, complete with Santa hats, the party will take a 6.6-mile route taking in Cleethorpes Pier before heading back to Grimsby and Docks Beers – for a few festive refreshments. All the walkers will be raising sponsorship money and you can enter on line simply by going to http://www.walkinghomeforchristmas.com/teams/wilkin-chapman-grimsby Latest Grimsby total (website pledges only): £210.15p.

  • In Lincoln, paying tribute to the 617 Squadron ‘The Dambusters’, which was based at RAF Scampton, the team is planning to walk a total of 617 miles! Selecting a mile loop around the Brayford, which should only take 20 minutes or so, as many people as possible are encouraged to walk the route from now until 11 December, to raise as much sponsor money as they can. Team members could take a friend or relative with them, or what about a walking meeting? Again you can sign up very easily by going to https://www.walkinghomeforchristmas.com/teams/wilkin-chapman-lincoln Latest Lincoln total (website pledges only): £148.05p.

  • In Beverley, the date has also been set for Wednesday 11 December with the route Setting off from their office in The Hall, Lairgate the walkers will take a 2.5-mile route around the town, aiming to complete as many laps of the town as possible in a 2 hour window, before returning to their offices, hoping to complete a collective total of 101 miles in order to commemorate the end of the First World War. As above, you can sign up at https://www.walkinghomeforchristmas.com/teams/wilkin-chapman-beverley Latest Beverley total (website pledges only): £141.46p.
