Having over 20 years’ experience in the fields of corporate and tax law, I am looking forward to assisting the firm and its pro-active team in developing the business across the East Yorkshire, Humber, York and Lincolnshire region.

As a chartered tax adviser as well as a solicitor, I also specialise in working with clients and their accountants to maximise opportunities in the delivery of legal services. I am relishing the opportunity to continue working with the excellent network of other professionals in the region. Businesses are fortunate in this area in having ready access to top professional advice.

I will be based at Wilkin Chapman’s Beverley office, but will be working closely with colleagues at the firm’s offices in Grimsby, Lincoln, Alford, Louth, Horncastle and Sheffield.

With a position in the Top 200 UK law firms, the ambition of the team at Wilkin Chapman was a large factor in my decision to take on this ‘new challenge’.

It will surprise many to know just how large Wilkin Chapman is and with that comes an ambition to strive for the best, with an innovative approach.

Born in Kirk Ella, I attended Hull’s Hymers College before studying economics at the University of Nottingham. Further legal and tax studies then followed.

Over the last decade I have extended my professional reach into Europe, working with clients in Sweden, Germany and France. Meanwhile, on the domestic front, I have a particularly interest in the food sector – from the field to the fork.

There is no doubt that the sector, from agriculture through to food processing and retail, has huge importance right across the region and it is vital as we move forward that exceptional professional support continues to be offered, in order to maximise the area’s opportunities.

Of industry and commerce within the area, I am optimistic for the future. There are many very good businesses that exist in this region, and there is a confidence among many of them with signs of increased corporate activity. Brexit certainly does not seem to be having too much of an impact.
