Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire solicitors, Wilkin Chapman, have received further recognition for their legal expertise in another of the UK’s prominent legal guides. The law firm has received five practice area recommendations and seven individual lawyer rankings within the influential Chambers 2016 guide.
Wilkin Chapman has received five practice area recommendations, and is also noted as a ‘recognised practitioner’ in agriculture and rural affairs within the York, Hull and surrounds region. Its corporate and commercial and commercial property teams are ranked within the East Midlands region; whilst its wills, estates, tax and trusts, family and agriculture departments are all ranked within the Lincoln and surrounds region. The family law and wills, estates, tax and trusts departments have been ranked as ‘band 1’ – the highest rank they can achieve and a reflection of the quality of legal service provided.
The Chambers UK 2016 guide identifies and ranks the country’s top law firms and solicitors by region and city. To gain a listing in the guide, both firms and individuals must be recommended during Chambers’ rigorous interview and research process, which is conducted by a team of over 140 full-time researchers.
Several of the firm’s partners have also been recognised as exceptional individuals – a testament to their legal expertise and knowledge. Within the East Midlands region three partners are recognised, including Ruth Brewin, partner and head of commercial property, who is recognised as a ‘band ‘1 solicitor, which means that she is recognised as being a top lawyer in her field; she is highlighted as having “a respected profile for her retail and commercial development work.”
Russell Eke, partner and head of corporate and commercial, is “especially well regarded for corporate reorganisations in the agricultural and energy sectors” and ranked as a band 2 solicitor. Martyn Chilvers, partner, is recognised as a band 3 solicitor and is recommended for his specialisms in “retail and industrial transactions.”
Within the Lincolnshire and surrounds region, Lisa-Jane Howes, partner and head of wills, estates, tax and trusts, is also ranked as a ‘band 1’ solicitor. Clients describe her as “very knowledgeable, efficient, helpful and understanding”.
Catherine Harris, partner and head of the agriculture department, is recognised as a ‘band 2’ solicitor within the agriculture and rural affairs category within Lincoln and surrounds. During the research process, interviewees stated that she is “capable,” “trustworthy” and “very strong in transactions.”
Imogen Holmes, partner, has also been highlighted as an ‘associate to watch’, with clients saying that: “she reads clients very well and has great social skills.”
