NFU panel solicitors for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, Wilkin Chapman LLP, have announced a new appointment within their team of specialist agriculture lawyers. Catherine Harris, partner, has been promoted to the position of ‘head of agriculture’ and takes up her new post from 1 June 2015.
Catherine Harris, a fellow of the Agricultural Law Association, joined the law firm in 2006, when she moved back to her Lincolnshire roots. She advises clients on the complexities of agricultural tenancies, particularly tenancies governed by the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986. Catherine also advises on whole farm sales and purchases concentrating on landed estate work, and is particularly noted for the excellent service she provides to several large estates and family farming businesses.
Commenting on her promotion, Catherine says: “I am delighted to take up this new position and face the challenges that working within such a dynamic industry sector will bring. The firm’s agriculture team is in good shape, and I am looking forward to developing and strengthening the team’s standing within the agricultural communities we serve.”
Catherine is acknowledged in the Chambers 2015 legal guide as an ‘associate to watch’ and is highlighted as being: “very good at cutting through the trees and getting to the point.” She is also the elected Secretary of the Lincolnshire Association of Agricultural Valuers.
