Beverley Solicitor Makes Shortlist for Regional Lawyer Awards

Local solicitor, Lesley Archer, has been shortlisted for an award at the region’s prestigious Yorkshire Lawyer Awards 2013. Lesley is a partner at Beverley solicitors, Cooper Wilkin Chapman, and she has been shortlisted in the ‘Private Client Award’ category.

The Yorkshire Lawyer Awards are now in their thirteenth year, and will take place on Wednesday 2 October at the New Dock Hall in Leeds. Organised by Barker Brooks Communications, publishers of Leeds & Yorkshire Lawyer magazine, the awards bring together the region’s legal community to recognise and celebrate its achievements.

The Private Client Award category recognises the legal work and dedication to clients of those solicitors, such as Lesley, who work with individuals. Working within Beverley’s largest wills, trust and probate department, Lesley specialises in all aspects of estate and succession planning and has particular experience in advising families where disabilities are an issue. Lesley is a well-known local speaker and regularly speaks and presents at local charity events, as well as participating in a number of charity fundraising schemes.

Commenting on being short-listed, Lesley said: “I’m very honoured to be short-listed and to have the chance for my work to be recognised amongst my peers. I’m looking forward to the award’s ceremony and am keeping my fingers crossed on the outcome.”

Launched in 2000, to recognise the outstanding legal talent across the region, the awards provide professionals the chance to come together for a memorable evening of networking, socialising and celebrating. The award categories themselves cover everyone from the biggest corporate firms to leading barristers, from senior partners to rising stars, and the event itself is a glittering black tie affair.
