Reece Townsend is a solicitor in the dispute resolution team, based at our Lincoln office.
Reece deals with various disputes across the agriculture and property sectors, including advising on property and contract matters. He also offers commercial and residential landlord services which help to protect property owners and their investments.
His role involves taking initial instructions, providing advice, preparing claim documents, attending conferences with counsel, and assisting in preparation for court hearings and trials.
During his training, his experience has seen him support clients with a variety of commercial property and dispute resolution services, including agricultural land transactions, commercial unit transactions and contentious probate.
Property disputes
Reece works with a range of residential, commercial and agricultural clients. He supports them with issues relating to boundaries, rights of way, restrictive covenants, trespass, adverse possession, overage agreements, cohabited properties and agricultural tenancies.
Landlord services
Reece works with landlords of both residential and commercial properties, assisting with the possession of properties and supporting with matters relating to security of tenure under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
Contract disputes
In his role, Reece deals with contractual and consumer disputes, working with individuals and commercial clients to resolve these. He has assisted in resolving a number of disputes, ranging from private contractual matters to commercial contract disputes.
Intellectual property disputes
Throughout his training, Reece has gained experience in dealing with matters relating to trademark infringements.
Agriculture
Reece specialises in supporting agricultural clients with a variety of dispute resolution services, helping to settle property disputes and contract disputes.
He also assists on drainage and water management matters, dealing with the Land Drainage Act 1991 and the regulatory framework that boards are subject to.
During his training, he previously dealt with matters relating to agricultural land transactions and agricultural tenancies.
Tourism and leisure
Reece has experience dealing with property matters for leisure clients.
Reece completed a Bachelor of Law (LLB) at the University of Lincoln, which included a semester abroad where he studied at Universität Augsburg in Germany.
During his time at university, he received numerous academic awards and achieved an ‘Academic Excellence Scholarship’ to study the Legal Practice Course (LPC) with Master of Law at Nottingham Law School.
Reece qualified with Wilkin Chapman in September 2024.
Throughout his training contract, Reece took part in the mentorship scheme organised by the University of Lincoln Law School. This involved mentoring second-year law students and he has continued his mentor role since qualifying.
