Oliver Tasker is a partner and the head of our employment team.
Oliver qualified as a solicitor in 2009, joined Wilkin Chapman in 2013 in our Lincoln office and was made head of department on 1 April 2022.
He predominantly advises large employers across a wide range of sectors throughout the region and the rest of the UK and also advises senior executives and directors with workplace disputes and tribunal claims.
Oliver regularly represents client’s in the employment tribunal (from preliminary hearings to multi-day final hearings), delivers bespoke training to businesses and presents internal and external seminars on a broad range of employment topics. Examples of recent work include:
Advising a multi-site employer on a collective consultation redundancy process with no tribunal claims being pursued
Providing commercially focussed advice to a charity on a protracted TUPE transfer resulting from a service provision change
Advising an employer on a protracted grievance and workplace dispute which resulted in months of negotiations over a settlement agreement for the individual
Successfully representing an employer at a tribunal hearing defending claims of unfair dismissal and whistleblowing
Successfully representing an employee in claims for unfair dismissal, discrimination arising from disability and failure to make reasonable adjustments.
Since the coronavirus lockdown in early 2020, Oliver has taken part in a large number of webinars for the firm and has been regularly invited to appear on regional webinars and podcasts. Oliver consistently delivers new clients for the team through active and targeted business development work.
Outside of work, Oliver sits on the Employment and Skills Advisory Panel at the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, he is a non-executive director of Active Lincolnshire and was previously a non-executive director on the main board of a large regional multi-academy trust.
