An Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) review shows that race inequality in the UK remains significant.

An Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) review shows that race inequality in the UK remains significant.

The report covers various aspects of life, including employment. And the statistics reveal the scale of the problems facing many in society, including:

- Black, Asian and ethnic minority workers who have degrees are two and a half times more likely to be unemployed than White workers with degrees.
- Black workers with degrees earn 23% less on average than White workers with degrees.
- Black people who leave school with A-levels typically get paid 14.3% less than their White peers.
- Since 2010, there has been a 49% increase in the number of young people from ethnic minority communities who are long-term unemployed. Compare that with a fall of 2% in young White people.

The Chair of the EHRC has called for a coordinated and comprehensive new race strategy from the Government.
