Rosanna Lindley-McGovern is a solicitor in the medical negligence team, based at both our Lincoln and Grimsby offices.
Rosanna’s role involves acting on behalf of patients and their families when investigating medical treatment and, where appropriate, helping them to achieve compensation.
She deals with a wide range of medical negligence cases including delays in cancer and cauda equina diagnosis and treatment, fatality claims, birth-related injuries, surgical errors and orthopaedic injuries.
Key specialisms
Cancer misdiagnosis
Rosanna has a wealth of experience when it comes to supporting clients with cancer misdiagnosis claims.
A delay in diagnosing cancer can have devastating impacts on a patient’s treatment opportunities, quality of life and life expectancy. Not only this, but it can be life-changing and traumatic for both the patient and their family.
Rosanna’s role involves obtaining independent medical evidence to allow her to advise on the standard of care, whether it was negligent and, if so, what the negligence caused. She also obtains evidence to assess future prognosis, if appropriate.
Fatality claims
Rosanna is able to deal with claims where the patient has passed away as a result of negligent medical treatment. In these cases, she acts on behalf of the estate and, where appropriate, on behalf of any financial dependants, such as minors and spouses.
It is her responsibility to gather evidence and consult with independent experts to prove that the medical professionals did not meet the correct standards of care, and that the substandard care caused the individual’s death.
Surgical errors
Rosanna works closely with patients and their families to secure compensation from the NHS, private hospitals and clinics when a surgeon or medical professional has provided substandard care.
To successfully bring a claim, she works to prove that the surgeon or medical professional did not meet the correct standards of care and caused an otherwise avoidable injury.
Education
Rosanna studied French and Spanish at the University of York before completing a Graduate Diploma in Law in 2018 at the University of Law Birmingham Campus.
She then studied a Legal Practice Course (LPC) part-time whilst working full-time as a paralegal, before qualifying in 2023.
Voluntary work and memberships
In her spare time, Rosanna volunteers at Wilkin Chapman’s various charity events, such as the North East Lincolnshire Mind Football Tournament.
Submit an enquiry and Rosanna will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss your needs.
