Adam Burton is a solicitor within the commercial property team based in our Lincoln office.
Adam graduated from the University of Lincoln with a degree in law, before completing his legal practice course at BPP Cambridge. After finishing his training contract at Wilkin Chapman, he qualified as a solicitor in 2022.
His day-to-day role sees him working on a wide variety of matters. From drafting renewal leases for established clients to acting for landowners and developers on development sites, he deals with extensive enquiries and liaises closely with his clients to progress matters.

Working for a large commercial client, Adam deals with the compliance certificates for their property transactions.
Whenever a property is sold at the site, he diligently reviews the transfer documents to ensure that they have been completed correctly. He also ensures that all documents (such as deeds of covenants and mooring licences) are received on time before conducting thorough reviews to confirm compliance with each lease.
Site management
Acting for the same client, he also works closely with their site management team to ensure that all management matters are in order, before any compliance certificates are issued.
His work of this sort usually involves reviewing title documents, leases, and transfer documents. He organises the case management system for the site. Adam co-operates and works closely with his clients, as well as sellers and buyers.
He also prepares application submissions to rectify missing restrictions at the site. This involves extensive title reviews, drafting, and reassuring residents about how the restrictions will affect the use of their property.
Sale of multiple properties
Working across departments, Adam frequently assists the corporate and commercial team with large corporate transactions involving significant property element. One particular matter saw him overseeing the sale of multiple properties to one commercial buyer.
