Oliver qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and has since specialised solely in employment law. He joined our Lincoln employment team in 2013, became a senior solicitor in April 2015 and was made a partner in November 2018.
Oliver advises employers across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK and has extensive experience of advising individuals with workplace issues, including senior executives and directors.
His aim is to provide effective and practical commercial advice to ensure that clients’ aims are achieved, and a lasting relationship is developed.
Since the coronavirus lockdown in early 2020 Oliver has taken part in a number of webinars for us, with both the Lincolnshire and Doncaster Chambers of Commerce. He has also taken part in several employment law podcasts.
Oliver regularly represents clients employment tribunals, delivers bespoke training to businesses and presents internal and external seminars on a broad range of employment topics.
Examples of work include:
- Advising a multinational employer on a reorganisation and redundancy process with no tribunal claims being issued or pursued
- Successfully representing an employer at a tribunal hearing, where he was defending claims of unfair dismissal and whistleblowing
- Successfully representing an employee in claims for unfair dismissal, discrimination arising from disability and failure to make reasonable adjustments.
- Negotiating a six-figure settlement for a director on grounds of unfair dismissal, sex discrimination and harassment.
