Mark is a self-employed consultant (non-solicitor) in our public law team, and is an experienced retired senior police officer with 30 years’ service.

During his police career, Mark worked with the Metropolitan Police Service for 20 years and 10 years at Humberside Police as Senior Investigating Officer. He has also worked with the West Yorkshire Police Counter Terrorism Unit, where he exercised the national response to major covert terrorist investigations and consequence management.

Mark was head of the Humberside Police Anti Corruption Unit. His expertise in investigations includes Homicide, Murder Review, Serious & Organised Crime, and Public Protection. He is a published contributory author to legal and academic textbooks on work related deaths and disaster victim identification. Mark is also a trainer and subject matter expert for The College of Policing, and has emergency planning qualifications.

Mark has also worked extensively within the UK and overseas in disaster management representing the UK in the role of Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Commander.
