Jonathan qualified as a solicitor in 1998 having previously undertaken his training with Wilkin Chapman. He specialises in property related litigation and became a partner in 2005.
He advises a number of Social Landlords and Housing Associations on all aspects of landlord and tenant litigation and enforcement including ASBIs, ASBOs, demotion, possession and disrepair cases. He is also recognised for this area of work by the Legal 500.
A number of commercial landlords, tenants and property agents instruct Jonathan to deal with contested lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and dilapidations claims and the eviction and removal of travellers. Clients include household name companies and local authorities.
He also heads a team who act for private residential landlords with both small and large property portfolios. The team is able to offer competitive fixed fee prices for all possession cases based on section 21 and section 8 notices and for setting up new tenancy agreements. The team also acts for local authorities and national managing agents in the collection of service charge and major works arrears. Their work includes obtaining judgement in the County Court or Residential Property Tribunal before pursuing forfeiture applications.
