James Kinnaird



James is a Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution department in Lincoln.

James joined us in 2008 and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2014. James was admitted as a Solicitor in 2018 after achieving a distinction on the Legal Practice Course and won the Commercial Litigation prize for the best student on the Commercial Litigation course.

James undertakes a broad range of litigation and dispute resolution including the following areas of expertise:

Commercial disputes

James has a particular interest in commercial disputes. He acts for companies and individuals in contractual, director, shareholder and partnership disputes. In particular, claims involving:

  • Unfair prejudicial conduct
  • Breach of restrictive covenants
  • Breach of warranty
  • Partnership breakdown

Personal disputes

James regularly acts for individuals in various disputes including contractual disputes, debts and defamation of character.

Property disputes

James acts for commercial landlords and tenants in a variety of property disputes. James also acts in personal property disputes including boundary disputes and applications under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act.
