Chantal joins Wilkin Chapman as a solicitor in our probate department based in Lincoln.
Chantal graduated from Buckinghamshire New University in 2008 with a non-law related degree before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London.
She started her career as a paralegal in a Local Authority in their Child Litigation Unit before being offered a training contract with a firm in Hertfordshire. Whilst training, Chantal completed seats in Child Litigation, Family and Private Client. She qualified in to a Court of Protection role in January 2017.
Chantal specialises in Court of Protection matters and is able to act as a professional Attorney/Deputy. She assists clients to plan for the future (completing Lasting Powers of Attorney) or, if someone has lost capacity, completing an application to the Court of Protection for a Deputyship Order. This enables either a family member or friend (or a professional Deputy) to manage an individual’s Property and Finances as well as Health and Welfare if the need arises.
Chantal also provides Social Workers, support workers/carers, IFA’s and Estate Planners with the necessary information they need to assist their clients/service users.
