The Government has launched a campaign aimed at helping employers see the potential in people, whatever their background.

‘See Potential’ has case studies and guidance on the benefits of recruiting people who may not tick the usual boxes. Think ex-offenders, long-term unemployed, rehabilitating drug or alcoholics, care leavers, homeless or those at risk of homelessness.

It takes a very human approach to the problems - and the opportunities – that exist in places where many employers don’t look. And it talks about benefits in terms of direct financial impact, improved staff engagement and capability, and increased brand value. Worth a read.
