Katie Davies is a partner in the employment team based in our Grimsby and Louth offices.
Katie has been a partner at Wilkin Chapman since 2013, after joining the firm in 2004 and qualifying in 2006. She offers excellent client care and adapts to her clients’ needs. She prides herself on taking the time to understand her clients and their requirements.
Katie offers practical and commercial advice over a wide range of services, dealing with all aspects of employment issues and acting as a support to in-house HR teams. Her client portfolio covers sole traders, partnerships, SMEs, and PLCs.

Expert daily support
Providing employment and HR advice to employers and employees, Katie gives advice ranging from day-to-day HR advice (such as holiday pay issues, grievances and disciplinaries) to more technical advice on redundancy and TUPE matters.
She regularly hosts seminars and provides training for her clients on an array of HR and employment issues. Katie is passionate about helping in-house teams build confidence and teaches them how to apply best practice processes to tackle the problems at hand.
Tribunal representation
Facing an employment tribunal claim can be complex and daunting, but Katie’s thorough and forward-thinking approach eases the worries of her clients. She frequently deals with tribunal claims and handles the claim from start to finish. She guides her clients through every step, from Acas Early Conciliation and submitting an ET3 defence, to the final hearing at the tribunal.
Her work sees her representing parties at the tribunal as necessary. She undertakes her own advocacy at the employment tribunal and is an active member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Sector-specific knowledge
Specialising in the education sector, Katie is head of education here at Wilkin Chapman. She acts for a variety of schools and academies. She uses the knowledge she has gained as a governor to understand the issues that educational establishments face and the ever-changing academic environment.
Furthermore, Katie is also the lead on health and social care strategies. She has extensive experience working in the health and social care sector. She regularly advises care homes, domiciliary care providers, and registered charities on all types of employment issues.
Memberships and voluntary work
Katie has previously acted as a school governor. She takes an active role in her community and has been involved in numerous community projects. Katie volunteers for the befriending network which is run through a local charity.
She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
