Jessica Dickinson

Jessica Dickinson is a solicitor in the recoveries department based in our Grimsby office.

She specialises in dealing with defended debt claims, mainly with commercial debt utility litigation for energy and renewable companies. She processes claims from instruction through to trial, seeking to obtain the best settlement possible for her clients in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner.

Debt recovery litigation

Since 2017, Jessica has undertaken debt recovery work. This has included general debt recovery, enforcement of judgments, and insolvency action (both for individuals and corporations). She has extensive experience issuing claims in the County Court, issuing bankruptcy and winding up petitions, securing charges against property, and applying for attachment of earnings and third-party debt orders.

Jessica has acted for local authorities, commercial and private landlords, and individual private clients in recovering a wide range of government, commercial, and private debts.

Commercial property litigation

She also possesses a wealth of experience in commercial property litigation, with a particular focus on the retail, pub, and licensed leisure industries.

Her work has seen her advising on estate management issues such as adverse possession, trespass, boundary disputes, nuisance claims, and access disputes. Jessica also advises on commercial rent arrears recovery and forfeiture as well as drafting and serving lease renewal notices and break notices.

Residential property litigation

Jessica has dealt with residential possession as well as residential service charges and ground rent recovery. 

Her role has involved issuing claims, engaging in mediation where necessary, and making court applications for possession and forfeiture of leases. This has involved attending court and regularly conducting her own advocacy to represent clients.
