Elena Metawea is a senior associate in the family law team based in our Louth office. She also provides support to our Grimsby office.
Elena has been with the firm for over 10 years, starting as a paralegal in the recoveries department where she spent four years, before qualifying as a solicitor in our family law team in November 2017.
She advises clients on all matters relating to family law including divorce, financial disputes, and child matters. She is particularly adept at financial remedy proceedings and child arrangement applications.
Her work often sees her negotiating financial settlements and resolving issues to reach an agreement outside of court via written proposals. Where this is not possible, she advises her clients on issuing applications to the court for financial remedy and follows the court applications from start to an end, supporting her clients.
She regularly instructs joint experts, such as accountants and pension actuaries, to advise on complex matters and negotiate settlement agreements once all the evidence is gathered. Further, she works closely with barristers when they are needed to undertake a hearing or final contested trial.
