Wilkin Chapman shortlisted for Humber Renewables Awards 2017

22 February 2017

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Hull Daily Mail Humber Renewables Awards in the Medium/Large Business of the Year award. In partnership with Siemens, the awards seek to honour those doing their bit to make the Humber area a fulcrum of green energy.

As the UK’s Energy Estuary, the Humber is recognised as being of ‘national significant importance’ in relation to Renewable Energy. With the largest port in the UK and large scale investment in rail and road infrastructure, this is an extremely exciting time to be positioned in the Humber.

With our new head office in Grimsby, and our office in Beverley, we are well aware of the strength of the renewables industry on both sides of the Humber.

Wilkin Chapman established a specialist renewable energy division in 2011 to meet the growing demands of our clients. With an extensive agriculture client base, we acted for a number of clients with the installation of on-shore wind turbines. Since these initial instructions, we have grown to a team of 10 multi-disciplinary specialists who have accumulated a wealth of expertise covering a wide range of renewable energy-related projects.

These projects include matters relating to Windfarms, Anaerobic Digesters, Renewable Crops/Miscanthus, Solar Energy and Onshore Cable Easements.

As we have grown our expertise in the renewables sector, we have also sought to develop an environmentally-efficient workspace. Our new Grimsby headquarters on Cartergate recently achieved a Government energy rating of A, a rating higher than the average newly-built building, and received no recommendations for improvements.

The merging of our two Grimsby offices into one was crucial in supporting our future growth ambitions, but equally important in providing us with an environmentally-friendly and efficient building.

The Humber Renewables awards will take place on 9 March 2017. We are extremely proud of our roots and our growth and we look forward to supporting Humber-based businesses with their growth aspirations in this thriving and evolving sector.
