Wilkin Chapman expands property department with new appointment

Lincolnshire law firm Wilkin Chapman has appointed solicitor, Stephen Watson, to its Lincoln office to further boost its successful commercial property department

Stephen joins the 38 strong property team and will advise clients on a range of property matters, including land and property acquisitions and sales; assisting commercial lenders and drafting and advising on commercial leases.

After qualifying as a solicitor this year while based at a law firm in Dorset, Stephen has moved back to Lincolnshire, where he lived since the age of 10, to join Wilkin Chapman, and says he “jumped at the chance” to work for the firm he describes as a “regional powerhouse”.

Stephen said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time working in Poole and Bournemouth, but my wife and I are from Lincolnshire and hoped to move closer to home. I’ve always known Wilkin Chapman as the legal powerhouse in the region, and the only local firm where I could really kick-start my career. When the opportunity to join them came up, I didn’t hesitate to take it.

“I’m excited to be part of the team here and to be able to start assisting local businesses and property owners.”

Ruth Brewin, Head of Commercial Property, Wilkin Chapman said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Stephen to the team. He’ll be a great asset to us and will be working alongside Legal 500 recommended partner Peter Hanson in our highly successful Lincoln com prop team. We look forward to watching his promising career unfold.”
