Solicitor hits the right notes to become partner at local law firm

A local solicitor, who is also a keen musician, is celebrating after being made a partner at the Lincolnshire law firm where he began his career nine years ago.

Michael Squirrell joined the Lincoln office of Wilkin Chapman solicitors, in September 2007 as a trainee solicitor. He qualified as a solicitor two years later and became a senior solicitor in 2013. Michael has now been made a partner in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial team, and will also play a key role developing the firm’s offering in sectors including Charities and IP/IT.

Outside of work, Michael plays guitar in a band. He has played gigs around the country and one of the band’s recordings was selected for inclusion in the British Library Sound Archive.

Michael said: “I’m delighted to be made a partner and look forward to developing the firm’s already extensive range of legal services for the benefit of existing and new clients. The firm is fantastic in helping career progression and it’s great to be real proof of that.”

Des Mannion, chief executive of Wilkin Chapman, said: “Michael’s appointment is testament to our ethos of investing in and developing our staff throughout their careers. We’re very proud that Michael has chosen to build a successful career with us, and I’m sure he will make an even greater difference to the firm moving forward.”
