Chris Garwood and Mark Carlton, partners from the Beverley office of East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire solicitors, Wilkin Chapman LLP, are preparing to embark on a charity walk from Grimsby to Beverley - a distance of close to 50 miles.

Two prominent local solicitors are preparing to embark on a charity walk from Grimsby to Beverley - a distance of close to 50 miles. Chris Garwood and Mark Carlton, partners from the Beverley office of East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire solicitors, Wilkin Chapman LLP, will set off from the firm’s Grimsby headquarters on Thursday 9 July 2015.

The sponsored walk will take in the sights of North Lincolnshire following the route of the Nev Cole Way, continue across the Humber Bridge, and then follow the route of the Beverley 20, finishing at Wilkin Chapman's Beverley office sometime on Friday 10 July to coincide with its 10th anniversary celebrations.

The walk is in aid of three Beverley based charities: Kickstart Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Support, Beverley Consolidated Charity and Beverley Community Lift, which are the Beverley office’s nominated charities for its 10th Anniversary year. The walk will also raise funds for Henshaws Society for Blind People, which provides support, education, community housing and sheltered employment for those who are visually impaired and have other disabilities also. An initial target of £1,000 has been set but Chris and Mark very much hope this can be substantially exceeded.

Commenting on their planned fundraising activities, Chris Garwood, partner at Wilkin Chapman, says: “We wanted to mark our 10th anniversary with an opportunity to give something back to the local community and thought from Grimsby to Beverley, would be a good way to start our fundraising activities and mark the first ten years from the establishment, in Beverley, of Wilkin Chapman's first office outside Lincolnshire, and it being two years since its merger with my previously Hull-based firm of Carrick Read"

The sponsored walk kicks off a year of fundraising activities for the Beverley law firm. Staff are planning raffles, bake sales and more sponsored activities to help raise funds for the Beverley-based charities.
