Matthew qualified as a solicitor in 2004. He became a Partner in the Debt Recovery & Insolvency Department at the firm's Grimsby office in 2012, alongside Partner, Chris Grocock. He specialises in bankruptcy and contentious insolvency matters.
Matthew obtained a Law with French degree after studying at DeMontfort University and is a fluent French speaker having spent time at Université de Savioe in France.
In the 2011 edition of the Legal 500, a leading source of information on the legal services sector, the firm’s debt recovery department is singled out for praise. In particular, Matthew is highlighted as being an ‘expert in his field'.
